**Job Summary:**
The Peer Recovery Support Specialist I will provide peer support services to individuals with substance use disorders and mental health conditions. They will offer guidance, encouragement, and assistance based on their own lived experience in recovery.
**Qualifications:**
- High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate's or Bachelor's degree in a related field preferred.
- Certification as a Certified Peer Recovery Specialist (CPRS) or willingness to obtain certification within the first six months of employment.
- Minimum of 1 year of personal or familial experience with substance use disorders and mental health challenges.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and demonstrate empathy and respect for individuals seeking support.
**Responsibilities:**
- Build trusting relationships with individuals seeking recovery support services.
- Provide peer support, advocacy, and mentorship to individuals in both group and one-on-one settings.
- Assist individuals in developing recovery plans and accessing community resources.
- Collaborate with treatment providers, healthcare professionals, and social services agencies to coordinate care.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation of interactions and progress notes.
