POSITION SUMMARY

Tarzana Treatment Centers College (TTCC) provides an academic and experiential setting for the study of behavioral and public health issues, including theories and models of care, prevention, interventions, research and treatment. Employment opportunities in this field include substance use disorder treatment advising, family and youth services, education, rehabilitation, community health, mental health, employment assistance programs, senior programs, community based non-profit agencies, and case management services. Instructors’ course load is less than full time and they are generally expected to work on and help support other TTCC work assignments, priorities, and responsibilities. Provides resources and links students to mental health, substance use, and primary care treatment. Previous case management experience is a plus.

SALARY RANGE

$26.50 - $42.50 per hour DOE

HOURS

8 hrs. per day / 5 days per week

CATEGORIES OF DUTIES

1. Teach assigned courses in accordance with the course syllabi and a schedule of classes offered at any approved TTCC instructional site.

2. Implement and/or assist in the development of instructional materials, including lesson plans, written course assignments, quizzes and exams related to the assigned course.

3. Review and grade assignments associated with assigned course.

4. Provide feedback and assist in ensuring that course curriculum and materials of TTCC are current and maintained up to date.

5. Advise and coach students to ensure the successful completion of their course work and overall program requirements.

6. Post and hold office hours in a physical and electronic format (to include virtual office hours) as appropriate.

7. Record student attendance and grades.

8. As appropriate, participate in TTCC assessments, surveys and planning efforts.

9. As appropriate, assist with student outreach, engagement and recruitment.

10.As assigned, participate in TTCC seminars and other Instructor development activities.

11.Other duties as assigned by Chief Academic Officer and/or TTCC Vice President & COO.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

Minimum Master’s in Education or Health-related field; Teaching experience in addiction studies and/or public health including use of Power-Point for online presentations and use of a Learning Management System such as Moodle/Canvas; Experience teaching specific courses related to Substance Use Disorder, Domestic Violence, Trauma- Informed Care, Evidence Based Practices (EBP); Criminal Justice; Case Management and Counseling services preferred.
