*This Position is for Nights between the hours of 7:30PM - 8:00AM*

POSITION SUMMARY

This position is primarily responsible for providing direct patient care services to a diverse patient population through the administration of medication, counseling and health maintenance. Assesses patient’s /health needs and resources, and provides technical nursing care and interventions to designated patient populations. Functions as charge nurse on the units as designated by Supervisor.

This position requires providing service to one or more age populations including adolescents and geriatric patients in a manner that demonstrates an understanding of the functional/developmental age of the individual served. In addition, nurses shall have the ability to assess, treat, and appropriately interact and care for individuals with mental health and substance use disorders.

This position requires the full understanding and active participation in fulfilling the Mission of Tarzana Treatment Centers, Inc. (TTC). It is expected that the employee demonstrate behavior consistent with the Core Values. The employee shall support Tarzana Treatment Center’s strategic plan and the goals and direction of the Performance Improvement Plan (PIP).

Salary Range

$45 - $67.50 / Hour DOE

CATAGORIES OF DUTIES

1. Plans and delivers nursing assessments and interventions related medication and psychiatric diagnoses of the patient.
2. Completes pre-admission triage and determines appropriateness of admission.
3. Administers medications to patients consistent with medication policies, practices and standards. Must have necessary computer skills to use electronic medication systems.
4. Communicates significant changes in patient’s condition in a timely manner.
5. Documents in patient’s chart nursing goals, interventions and clinical outcomes. Must be capable of and chart in, both electronic and manual patient records.
6. Functions as an active member of the treatment care planning team.
7. Respond to medical emergency situations.
8. Competently use equipment necessary for the delivery of patient care including but not limited to: glucometer, defibrillator, EKG machine, intermittent suction, bag/mask, oxygen, restraints/seclusions.
9. Attends trainings as required for the position.
10. Functions as a charge nurse.
11. Performs other job-related functions as may be assigned by the Director of Nursing.

EDUCATION/TRAINING/EXPERIENCE

1. Graduate of an accredited RN School of Nursing.
2. Two (2) year recent acute care experience preferred; a Behavioral/Chemical Dependency Setting- required.
3. Excellent written and verbal communication skills
4. Psychiatric Nursing certification is preferred

LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS

1. Current California RN License
2. Current BLS Card
